The HV/X belongs to Koss's High Velocity family, which began with the HV/1A in 1974. Koss calls that model the first dynamic headphone able to reproduce all 10 audible octaves, and the HV name carried on through the HV/1LC, the HV/1A+ of 1987 and the HV/Pro. The HV/X was on sale by 1985, when it appeared in a Koss brochure, and a version with level controls was sold as the HV/XLC. Listings turn up in Europe as well as the US. Little else about it was documented, and Koss's own history doesn't mention it, so treat each pair as a find and judge it on its condition.
Only one HV/X is for sale, an HV/XLC with level controls titled tested and needing new foam, at $59 delivered, so this is one asking price and not a market read. Koss lists no HV/X pads, so plan on hunting for foam that fits. Its impedance isn't documented, so ask for the label, and plan on a home stereo's headphone jack, since a phone may not get it loud enough. The photo shows a coiled cord ending in a 1/4-inch plug, so ask for a short video playing music with the cord flexed near each cup and both level controls turned.
